SIMCODESS a not-for profit organization, is located at A.Vellodu, a village 10 Kms away from Dindigul town and district. It is situated under the foot of Sirumalai Hills. Dindigul is located at a distance of 100 Kms towards south of Tiruchirapalli District. It is well connected by Rail and Road. It is very close to Gandhigram Rural University. SIMCODESS is a reputed and registered voluntary organization and working for the betterment of poor farmers and women in farm sectors to promote natural farming and control climate change in Dindigul District for more than 35 years. SIMCODESS was found primarily to protect and promote green coverage at SIRUMALAI hills, which is a source of income to thousands of farmers who either had small holdings or no land at all. The hill was invaded by the affluent people who wished to make their holiday resort by clearing the green cover. Small farmers were alienated from their small land holdings. The green cover in the hill also impacted farming activities down the hills where thousands of farmers depended on farming alone. Drastic green cover reduction due to invasion by the rich left the hills barren and hence SIMCODESS started paying special attention by promoting green cover and organizing small and marginal farmers in and around Sirumalai Hills. Following are its primary stakeholders.
